Diploma resources

In this section you will find various learning materials which can help teachers and lecturers delivering the Diploma in Manufacturing and Product Design (MPD).

These include challenges and competitions young people can take part in and DVDs which give an insight into different manufacturing and product design processes. A range of leaflets and additional resources including links to learning programmes and useful websites can also be found here.

Challenges and competitions include the Food and Drink Schools Challenge where students design a new food or drink product. They could also choose to design a CO2 - powered car and take part in the Formula One Schools Challenge, or learn more about the world of printing by following the interactive PrintIT! learning programme.

The DVDs available show many manufacturing processes from the production of chocolate and cheese to the design of planes and animated monsters. These short films give students the chance to see manufacturing in action and the final products.

There are numerous Diploma leaflets available in this section, as well as information about learning programmes such as Fabricadabra and the World of Work (WOW) which bring learning to life for students.
